In this unit, titled "Revolution and Change (1715-1815)", students explore fundamental changes in Western civilization and their impact on the non-western world.  The eighteenth century is viewed here as an age of optimism and progress. Students scrutinize humanity’s relationships with the natural universe, religious values and institutions, and the social, economic, and political order. It is through the study of these relationships that the main factor leading to structural change and upheaval during this period can be examined – the people of the modern western world.
